WHAT DO YOU SEE?
Happy Friday!
Can you see what it is? (If you can’t, I’ll give the answer at the end )
Remember the “Magic Eye” craze of the 90’s? It seemed like all of a sudden these books were everywhere! They were so fascinating because there had never been anything quite like them before. There was a picture hidden within a picture… and not everybody could see it. If you wanted to see the hidden image, you had to learn to look at the pictures in a certain way.
The Magic Eye pictures remind me of how we, as Christians, ought to view life. There is often more going on with people and circumstances in our lives than meets the eye. Maybe that person who annoys us at work is really there to refine our character? Maybe not getting into the school we wanted will set our life in a new and more fulfilling direction? We have to learn how to see with the eyes of the Spirit in order to get the real picture.
As citizens of the Kingdom, we can’t keep looking at things the same old way. We have to spend time in the Word and in prayer to gain the proper perspective.
This weekend we will be looking at 2 Corinthians 5:16-21 (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/? search=2+Corinthians+5:16-21&version=ESV). We’ll be digging into what it means to see with God’s eyes. (Oh… and if you couldn’t see it, the hidden picture is planet Saturn.)
Looking forward to it!
Dustin
