PUT IT TO WORK
Happy Friday!
America is a country that loves its stars. I’m not talking about constellations here… I’m speaking more along the lines of Julia Roberts and George Clooney. In fact, there are multiple TV shows that solely focus on the life and times of our beloved celebrities.
Here’s what I learned while watching one yesterday: Blake Shelton got a new tattoo of deer tracks around his forearm (he apparently loves to hunt), Adam Levine bleached his hair, and Oprah is taking on a role in a new movie! I know, this is life-changing information! (<- that was sarcasm)
The fact that we have hours of television devoted to following the tiniest details of celebrity life says something unsettling about our culture. As a society, we hold these people in such high esteem simply because they’re highly talented, or attractive, or wealthy. It can cause us to lose sight of the truth that we’re all pretty remarkable in our own way; created by God and endowed with unique gifts.
This week we start a new series called “Gifted”. We’re going to be taking a look at what it means to be gifted by God. If you want to get a head start on our passage for this weekend, we will be in Matthew 25:14-30 (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+25:14-30&version=ESV).
Are YOU gifted? Come this weekend and find out!
Looking forward to it!
