DECISION PAR EXCELLENCE

Good Friday to You,
I am making, by far, the best decisions of my life!
Please don’t mistake my excitement and confidence for arrogance. I don’t claim to have risen to a superior spiritual state of consciousness. I haven’t magically viewed the events of the future. My reality is quite the opposite of “decision self-sufficiency!” I am making much better decisions because, more than ever before, I realize how vulnerable I am to making bad decisions.
I have not discovered a secret for getting it right on my own. Instead, I have discovered the power of the right people protecting me from making bad decisions. Thus, my decision par excellence is actually less about me and more about them!
I am now surrounded by the best people of my life!
Yes…some of the best people I have ever known are my SoIL friends! Yet, some of my best people have been around me for a long time and are now much wiser (ex. my wife!). Others have grown into more influential roles (ex. our Pastors and Elders and my Verge). Because I see my need and their benefit, I welcome their influence more than ever before.
I am listening better. I consistently seek advice. I am willingly implementing the advice. Because these trusted friends are in place, I am now consistently making better decisions.
WARNING!!! Before you run off to seek some friendly advice for your next decision, there are a few guiding principles you need to know and practice. You can’t just start asking people for advice. Everyone has an opinion! Many are more than willing to tell you what they think you should do with your life. Recognizing who to ask and when to ask are essential to the process.
This Sunday, I have the privilege of teaching the essentials for inviting the right people to speak into your life at the right time. It will be a privilege to share from the truth of God’s Word and my experience of that truth. I genuinely believe God will be positioning both of us to make the best decisions of our lives! As always, I encourage you to get a head start. You can do so this week by reading Ephesians 4:11-17 (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/? search=Ephesians+4:11-17&version=ESV).
Hope to see you Sunday,
Pastor Michael
