- Scripture: Luke 10:25-37
Reflect on the devotional, and answer the questions to dive in deeper!
- Devotional: Jesus’s story of the Good Samaritan shows us mercy in its simplest and most tangible form: stepping in to help someone in need without waiting for them to earn it—or even ask for it. Like the priest and the Levite, we can be quick to pass by suffering when we are focused on our own concerns, but Lent calls us to slow down and notice the hurting around us. God’s mercy reached us when we were helpless and undeserving, and He now equips us to extend that same compassion to others. Even small acts of mercy reflect the heart of Christ and make His kingdom visible to the lost. As we reflect today, let us remember that mercy is often costly, and let us be willing to set aside our comfort and convenience to care for those who are vulnerable.
- Discussion Questions:
- What stood out to you in today’s passage?
- What questions do you still have?
- What is God asking you to do in response?
End your time with prayer, and ask the Lord to help you apply what you have learned today.
