- Devotional: In today’s passage, John reminds us that the message we have heard from the beginning is simple, but it’s not easy: those who belong to Christ are called to love one another. During these 40 days of Lent, forgiveness becomes one of the most practical ways that love shows itself, especially when it feels costly to us. John brings us more good news—when our hearts accuse us and we struggle to release resentment, God meets us with abundant mercy, far greater than our guilt or our fear. As we abide in Christ and walk in His ways, the Spirit works within us, sanctifying our hearts so that forgiveness becomes evidence of our living, active faith!
- Discussion Questions:
- What stood out to you in today’s passage?
- What questions do you still have?
- What is God asking you to do in response?
End your time with prayer, and ask the Lord to help you apply what you have learned today.
