- Devotional: Palm Sunday shows us a King who comes gently—not grasping for power, but willingly walking toward suffering. The crowds shout “Hosanna,” yet they long for a Messiah who will fix their present circumstances and overthrow Roman oppression. They do not yet want a Savior who will die for their sins—and in many ways, we are not so different. Jesus knows the praise will fade, the palms will be dropped, and the cross is coming, yet He rides on in perfect obedience to the Father’s will. This scene humbles us, reminding us that our salvation does not depend on our fleeting enthusiasm, but on Christ’s sovereign resolve to save His people. As Lent nears its end, Palm Sunday calls us to follow King Jesus—not only in celebration, but on the costly road of submission that leads to life.
