March 24 - Tuesday

Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your time, then read the following Scriptures.

  • Scripture: James 1:1-12

Reflect on the devotional, and answer the questions to dive in deeper!

  • Devotional: James opens his letter by calling suffering a strange kind of gift—one God uses to grow our endurance and mature our faith. Trials don’t feel joyful in the moment, but James reminds us that God is at work through them, shaping us into people who trust Him more deeply. Instead of asking God to remove every hardship, we’re invited to ask for wisdom to endure them faithfully. During Lent, this passage helps us see suffering not as punishment, but as purposeful training in the hands of a loving Father.. As we persevere, we participate in the work of our sanctification as the Spirit grows our spiritual roots. In the midst of the battles, we can cling to the promise that God is forming us—-not for temporary comfort, but for lasting joy!

  • Discussion Questions:
    1. What stood out to you in today’s passage?
    2. What questions do you still have?
    3. What is God asking you to do in response?

End your time with prayer, and ask the Lord to help you apply what you have learned today.
